Sam Lam-Pham, aged 80, died peacefully on February 23, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital after a brief struggle with pneumonia. Sam was born on January 29, 1935 in Saigon, Vietnam. She was the daughter of Thy Van Lam and Ha Thi Le.
Sam was an elementary school teacher in Vietnam before she migrated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1975. She devoted her life to God, and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and cake decorating. Sam was married to the love of her life, Lap Pham. In addition to raising three children, she was also a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Thanh Le Van Phung Catholic Church. She belonged to Legio Maria, Human Apostolic Rosary and Union of Catholic Mothers of Archdiocese.
She is survived by her husband, Lap Pham; son, Luan Pham; daughters, Tuyet-Suong Pham-Teh and Tuyet-Hang Pham; grandchildren, Stephanie Pham, Ashley Pham, Natalie Pham, Tiffany Pham and Brigitte Teh.
Visitation and rosary will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park located on 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Wednesday, February 25th and Thursday, February 26th at 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Mass will be held on Friday 27th at 6:00 PM at Saint Anthony of Padua Thanh Le Van Phung. The main Mass will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 AM at Saint Anthony of Padua Thanh Le Van Phung Catholic Church located on 2305 Choctaw Drive, Baton Rouge, La. 70805.
