Kenneth Wayne Lewis was born July 28, 1945, to Wayne H. and Nadine G. Lewis in Valley View Hospital, Ada, Oklahoma, while his father was away commanding a small US Navy ship in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was baptized at Epworth Methodist Church in Oklahoma City as a child and graduated from high school at Ada High School in 1963 and from Oklahoma State University in 1968. Through his life, Kenneth lived in Oklahoma City, OK (1946-1955), Ada, OK (1955-1964), Stillwater, OK (1964-1968) while attending Oklahoma State University, Baton Rouge, LA (1968-1976), and finally Gonzales, LA (1976- 2021). He worked at Eythl Chemical Company, Grant Chemical Company, and retired from BASF Chemical Company. It was at Grant Chemical that he met his wife, Dorothy Earlene Cook Ackoury Lewis. They married in 1974, and in 1977, Ken and Earlene began construction of their new home in Ascension Parish, which turned into a 4-year endeavor with them completing most of the work. Over the years Ken and his wife enjoyed travel to various destinations mostly in Europe and the U.S. They shared 44 beautiful years together until her passing in November of 2018. Kenneth is survived by his brother, Robert A. Lewis, and his wife, Nancy Lewis; son, William M. Ackoury, and his wife, Kim Ackoury; sister-in-law, Mary C. "Jo Ann" Miller, and her husband, Wilmer J. "Bo" Miller Jr.; and granddaughter, Brandi Ackoury Zeagler, and her husband, Daniel Zeagler. He is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Dorothy Earlene Lewis, and parents, Wayne H. and Nadine G. Lewis. Visitation will be on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, from 10 am until funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Kenneth will be greatly missed.
