Kenneth Marshall Fryer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was born on April 2, 1964 in Delhi, Louisiana and was called home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father James Coleman Fryer; and is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ramona Davis Fryer, his mother, Ramona Lynn Solesbee Fryer, a sister, Sheila MacFaddin and her husband Alan, a niece, Ann Jones, and nephew, Joseph MacFaddin. Ken was committed to a lifetime of learning. He graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in May of 1982 and received a Bachelor of Music degree from East Texas Baptist University in 1988. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a Master of Music degree and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Theological Studies. Ken married Ramona Fryer in August of 1984, and together they began a life of ministry. He served the Lord Jesus Christ as Minister of Music to numerous Baptist churches and was later ordained to the Gospel ministry at Parkview Baptist Church. He served as a pastor in several Louisiana Baptist churches including First Baptist Church in Greenwood; University Baptist Church in Monroe; and Heritage Baptist Church in Shreveport. At the time of his death, he served as Minister of Music and Associate Pastor at Riverside Baptist Church in Watson, Louisiana. His love of music and education expanded over the years to include teaching. He taught at Sequitur Classical Academy, University View Academy and Christ Presbyterian Church, as well as teaching voice to numerous private students. He co-authored the book “Virtues of the Great Composers for Children”, and was a contributor to the book “Covenant Theology: A Baptist Distinctive” by Earl Blackburn. The family welcomes friends to a Visitation on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Service celebrating the life of Kenneth Fryer will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Larry Hubbard, James Robertson, and Lewis Richerson. Interment will be on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Woodard Cemetery in Taylor, Louisiana.
