"June Eggart Lepine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 11, 2018, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 93. She was born on December 27, 1924 in Tampa, FL. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a devout and faithful Catholic and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary daily. In her younger years, June was actively involved in Our Lady of Mercy church and school, volunteering her time as a member of the Sacristy Committee, Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and serving as Home and School President. June grew up in Florida and New York, finally moving to Baton Rouge at the age of 14. She attended Baton Rouge High School, Columbia University and Louisiana State University, where she studied Fine Arts. In 1949, she met and married the love of her life, William "Bill" Omer Lepine, Sr. June was a homemaker and avid reader who loved all sports, especially baseball, football and tennis. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, painting, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Junebug." June is survived by her son, William "Bill" Omer Lepine, Jr. and wife Janie Perdue Lepine; daughter, Mary Eleanor Lepine Harris and husband Lanny Keith Harris; her four grandchildren, Kristie Harris Culpepper and husband, Brett, Cherie Harris March and husband, BG, Nathan Lepine and wife Melissa, Kyle Lepine and wife Jennifer; and her six great-grandchildren, Mary Preston and Brooks March, Reid and Harris Culpepper, Elizabeth Lepine and Anna Lepine, and her 12 nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her husband of 55 ½ years, William "Bill" O. Lepine, Sr; her parents, Mary Eleanor and Anthony Louis Eggart; her brothers and sister, Malcolm J. Eggart, Al David Eggart and Lenore Eggart. Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Tonia Griffon, Grace Washington and the staff and residents of Williamsburg Senior Living Community, where she lived for over 12 years, Drs. Steven Gremillion and Lara Falcon for their care, concern and kindness throughout her years and most of all to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Joseph's Hospice Carpenter House, who provided her with love, peace, dignity and comfort- you all are truly Angels on Earth. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Lanny Harris, Nathan Lepine, Kyle Lepine, Brett Culpepper, Brookman "BG" March, and Dr. Jeff Eggart. Honorary pallbearers will be her 3 precious great-grandsons.
