Joyce “Sister” Lawless Spedale, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2021, at the age of 93. She is survived by her children, Margaret Brown (Karl), Charles Spedale (Vickie), Anthony Spedale (Paulette) and Puddin’ Samrow (Greg); grandchildren, Karyn Crafton, Chris and David Brown, Brad and Brett Spedale, Jaime O’Connell, Jessica Trahan and James Spedale; sisters, Pat Berry and Margaret “Boots” Richmond; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jimmy” Spedale, whom she never stopped missing in life; her parents, Carvin and Marguerite Lawless; and her siblings, Ellis Lawless, Sue Mitchell, Vester Ray Lawless, Arnold “Cookie” Lawless and James “Jimmy Lawless. Due to the recent increase in Covid cases, the family had a private Mass and burial on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
