In loving memory of Joyce Nuss Rabel, age 79, passed away on Sunday November 27, 2023 at her home surround by family and friends. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Dominican High School and married the love of her life at the age of 20. Joyce and Dr. Edgardo resided in New Orleans a few years before moving to Baker Louisiana to open Rabel Family Dentistry. Joyce is survived by their two sons R. Brett Rabel, DDS (wife Elizabeth Rabel) and Michael N. Rabel, DDS (wife Amie Rabel). She has 6 grandchildren Justen, Mason, Parker, Grant, Colin, and Dylan Rabel and one great grandchild Rhodes Rabel, Joyce’s sister-in-law Bebita Rabel Augustin, nephew Chuck Camp and her great nephews Chucky Camp and Patrick Camp. She was preceded by her husband Dr. Edgardo Louis Rabel, and her parents John William Frank Nuss and Mercedes Caludrovich Nuss. Joyce’s passion was her husband Dr. Edgardo “Bob” Rabel. She would wait “patiently” for him to return home from a long day at the dental office. She found joy in traveling and spending time with her close friends and family. Nothing meant more to her than her grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies were going to the coast “Biloxi” to hit the black jack tables and shopping with her girlfriends. She loved Mardi Gras whether it was a local krewe “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” or the king of all krewes Endymion in New Orleans. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother to her sons. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and boundless joy brought light to every room she entered. Her happiness was contagious and her ability to find joy in the simplest moments inspired all those around her. Our love for her will not end with death it will live on in our hearts for eternity. Visitation will be Wednesday November 29, 2023 from 9-11am with a service following from 11-12pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery 120 City Park Ave; New Orleans at 1pm.
