Joseph Novotny

He was born Sept 24,1929 in Crucible, PA to George and Anna Novotny. He was a graduate of Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, PA, where he played basketball and baseball. Joe was a retired chemist with Allied Chemical/Honeywell. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eleanor Koren Novotny and daughters, Sharon Dalpini and husband Doug, Julie Jones and husband Guy, daughter in law Deborah McBride Novotny; grandchildren, Erin (Jay) Strybis, Andrew (Crystal) Dalpini, Joshua (Jennifer) Coon, Daniel Jones, Renee (Stephen) Martin, Warren (Storm) Novotny-Elhers, Martin Novotny and Aaron Novotny; and 6 great Grandchildren. He was a long time active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Joe coached basketball & baseball and was a referee for LHSAA. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and square dancing with his wife Eleanor.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Novotny, O.D., brother John Novotny and parents George and Anna Novotny. Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church 7pm-9pm and Sat 10-11 with Service starting at 11am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a designated memorial fund at Trinity Lutheran Church-Trinity Oaks in honor of Joseph Novotny.
