Joseph Ivy LeBlanc, Sr. beloved husband of Bridget Babin LeBlanc died October 21, 2010 at the age of 88. In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by his three children: Brother Ivy LeBlanc, S.C. of New Orleans, Nancy LeBlanc Guidry of Baton Rouge, and David LeBlanc of Nashville. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. LeBlanc was attending LSU when he enlisted and became a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Upon returning from the war he became a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and an employee of Exxon Corporation’s Baton Rouge Refinery until his retirement in 1980. In retirement he became an accomplished artist who used his art to further the mission of Catholic schools particularly Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and Brother Martin High School in New Orleans. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday October 25, 2010 from 6PM until 8PM and continuing on Tuesday October 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9AM until a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Foundation, 4600 Elysian Fields Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122
