Joseph Ardie Keller, native of Bunkie, LA. and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the age of 79. Ardie loved to fish, hunt, cook, and spend time with his family and lifelong friends from highschool. Strong in his Christian faith, Ardie was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Kenner, LA, and, in his later years, Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. He worked for Fox 8 News as an audio/video engineer in New Orleans, LA for 30 years. Prior to this he served in the US Navy for six years. Ardie also enjoyed going to festivals and the great music, food, and company that came along with them. Ardie was an avid LSU football fan as well. A devoted husband, loving father, wonderful grandfather, and beloved uncle, Ardie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda “Gail” Keller; daughter, Laura Keller Hernandez and husband Michael; son, Philip Keller and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Amber Lane and Jake Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Madeline Keller; brother, William Keller; sister, Eleanor Nelson. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. 70815, beginning at 5pm until 8pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Istrouma Baptist Church, 10500 Sam Rushing Dr. Baton Rouge, LA. 70816, beginning at 10am conducted by Rev. Jeff Ginn.
