Joseph Wad D’Abadie Jr. passed away at the age of 91 on March 15, 2024. He was born in New Roads, Louisiana; but was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Joseph served in the U.S. Army and retired as a sergeant from the Baton Rouge City Police in the early 80s.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Renee D’Abadie (Baton Rouge, LA); nieces, Cindy Neames, Deanie Partridge, and Sharon Willis; nieces and nephews, Ty Parker, Penny Parker Bess, Chad D’Abadie, Patrice Couvillion, Kim Holeman, Keith Wilson, and Cliff Wilson; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephew; as well as his canine companion (Dog) known to him as Blackie.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia E. D’Abadie; father, Joseph Wade D’Abadie Sr.; mother, Laura Chenevert D’Abadie; sisters, Barbara Wilson and Dianne Parker; brother in-laws, Royce Wilson and George Ellis Jr.; niece, Roxanne Hearl; as well as nephew, Tod Wilson.
The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the sitters, Latrice Solomon, Judie Arbuthnot, and Janice Arbuthnot.
Relatives and friends are invited to the graveside service on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 2:00PM located at Resthaven Cemetery, 11817 Jefferson HWY, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Craig Lejeune is to officiate the graveside.
