A retired Lt. Col. with the Louisiana State Police and a resident of Baton Rouge, Joseph Henry Andre passed away at The Carpenter House on Friday, April 22, 2016. He was 87 and a native of Plaquemine. Joseph proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Sunday, April 24, from 4 pm until 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Monday, April 25, 12:30 pm celebrated by Rev. Thomas C. Ranzino. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Maringouin. Joseph is survived by son, Richard Stephen Andre; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary A. and John Gregory Foshee and Lois A. and Robert Veselits; brother, John Andre; four grandchildren, Brian King, Jr., Joe Foshee, Grace Veselits and Sam Veselits; and a great-granddaughter, Leanna Grace King. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Mason Andre; and parents, Joseph M. and Nora Wiseman Andre.
