Jonathan Alan James

Jonathan Alan James of Baton Rouge passed away unexpectedly Tuesday July 22 at his residence at the age of 55.Jon was born Jan 2 1959 in Concord, California to the late George and Jeanette James of Baton Rouge. During Jons early life his fathers' employment at Ethyl Corporation necessitated many moves beginning with the families move to Baton Rouge in 1963. Jon soon found himself in schools in Thesalonika Greece, Iwakuni Japan and Kentland Indiana before graduating from Broadmoor High in 1975. Jon received his BA from Louisiana Tech in 1978 and his Juris Doctorate from LSU Law in 1987. He was in private practice his entire career. Jon was a treasured father, caring and generous friend and a loving brother. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer James, brother Jeff James, and sister-in-law Ingrid Y. James, nephews Jordan, Kelly and Austin James, cousins Darlene Reyes Tony Mendoza and Janie Wingate. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on August 1, 2014 from 12pm till Memorial Service at 2pm. Private burial will follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association in his honor. under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA.
