John Burkman O’Connor, native of Mamou and resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the age of 75. John had a passion for gardening, especially his rose bushes. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Price O’Connor; son, John B. O’Connor, Jr.; step-daughters, Connie Price, Kim Daugherty and husband, Mike; son-in-law, Keith James; grandchildren, Nicole(Nick), DeeAnn(Travis), Colton, Kayleigh, Amanda (Luke), Blaine (Angela), Jonathan, Jeremy(Serah), Brianna, Ashley, and Joshua; great grandchildren, Ben, Nicholas, Maddie, Abby, Lexi, Anna, Zoey, and Avery; brothers, Terry O’Connor and Perry O’Connor(Joy). He is preceded in death by his daughter, Monique James, first wife,Diane O’Connor; brother, James O’Connor; step son, Lonnie Price; and parents, Dewey and Mary Ann Bourque O’Connor. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2016 beginning at 9am until funeral service at 11am. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
