John Kenneth Edwards, Sr.

John Kenneth Edwards, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the age of 74. He was a native of Lebanon, TN, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He grew up in Lafayette, was a Lafayette High School graduate, attended ULL for a brief time, then he moved to Baton Rouge. John served as a UPS driver, and earned annual awards for safe driving throughout his 35+ year career, while simultaneously holding the position as a Union Steward. He loved sports, listening to live music, riding his motorcycles, LOVED restoring his white 1973 Corvette, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. John is survived by his children, Brandy Edwards Ferree, John Kenneth Edwards, II and his lifetime partner, Nikki Mayerhafer, and Tyler Mitchell Edwards and his wife, Bridgette; grandchildren, Charlese, Duran, Rylan, Brody, and Silas; brother, William Mitchell Edwards; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

John is preceded in death by parents, Carl and Marjorie Edwards; sister, Martha Carolyn Edwards; and fur babies, Buster and Rocko. There will be a private family burial in Lafayette, LA, at a later date.
