JoAnn Walters Diebold

JoAnn Walters Diebold of Prairieville, LA passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Baton Rouge General Hospital. She was 79 years old, born on January 9, 1938 in Winnsboro, LA. She was a 1956 graduate of Crowville High School and attended business college in Jackson, MS. She worked for Capitol Building & Loan until her marriage to Joseph L Diebold Jr. in July 1962. Left to honor and cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph L Diebold Jr., two sons, Greg Diebold of Prairieville, LA and Brent Diebold (Stephanie) of Zachary, LA, special grandson David Joseph "DJ" Diebold of Zachary, LA, twin sister Jackie Boyd and brother-in-law Baker Boyd of Baker, LA. Preceded in death by her parents Ray and Verna Walters, four sisters, Jerry Fosse (Bernard), Jean Williams (Billy Ray), Jan Kent (W.J.), Joyce Walters and one brother James Robert Walters. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. JoAnn was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. She made beautiful jewelry that she generously gave to family, friends and many others. She loved to travel with her sisters and best friend Patricia Caldwell. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Jo Ann loved to sing and heaven's choir truly received another angel. Pallbearers: Johnny Boyd, Ronnie Fousse, Guy Williams, Danny Williams, Tom Parker, Perry Walker and D.J. Diebold. Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Jarreau, Billy Gene Williams and Barrett Parker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to American Cancer Society . Services will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, conducted by Rev. Jay Avance, Rev. Milford Walters and Rev Marvin Smith and wife Vicki.
