A loving wife and mother, Jessie Lee Breeden James passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at her home in Kingwood, TX, at the age of 97. She was born on November 16, 1921, in Pride, LA, and after an 87 year residency in Baton Rouge, LA, she spent the last 10 years in Kingwood, TX, to be near her son and daughter-in-law.
During WWII, Jessie worked in the lab at Standard Oil, testing airplane fuel used by allied forces. She was a life-long member of Istrouma Baptist Church and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking, sewing and watching all sports, especially LSU and the Saints.
Jessie is survived by her son, Gordon Ray James and wife, June, of Kingwood, TX; grandson, Ryan James and wife, Kate, of Castle Rock, CO; granddaughter, Brandi Fuller and husband, Danny, of Colorado Springs, CO; and great-granddaughters, Bailey Fuller and Avery James.
Jessie is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Gordon James; daughter, Linda Lee James; parents, Dean Emmett Breeden and Demarious Croft; brothers, Allen Breeden, Percy Breeden and Emmett Breeden; and sisters, Media Breeden, Ella D. Breeden Tullier, Evie Breeden Abreo and Ola Breeden Sicard.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, February 02, 2019, from 11am until the time of funeral services at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
