With great sadness and much love, the family of Jerry Patrick Crifasi announce his passing from this life into the hands of our heavenly Father on Friday February 2, 2024. Jerry was born on July 26, 1960 to Sam and Mary Lou Crifasi. He was the seventh of eleven children. Jerry was sweet all of his life and nothing but good and kind. Jerry was a proud member of the Redemptorist High School state basketball championship teams in 1977 and 1978. He was a phenomenal basketball player and athlete but an even better person. Jerry loved spending time with his family. Fishing, golf and volleyball were his favorite activities. Jerry loved Elvis and Rocky and he made a mean batch of pecan pralines. He was an avid fan of sports in general but especially LSU and the Saints. Jerry was heavily involved in the lives of his daughter, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. After our Mom’s death in 2009, Jerry went out of his way to see about our Dad and to spend time with him. He also made sure Dad did not miss his regular visits to Dr. Casino.
Jerry was consistently humble and kind. People may forget your words and deeds but they never forget the way you make them feel. Jerry’s authentic affection for others lives on in the hearts of many. He sincerely loved others and everyone loved Jerry. He was genuinely interested in people and always performing both small and large acts of kindness. He was the ambassador of the Jones Creek Hi Nabor store since its opening in 1982. The incredible outpouring of emotions and heartfelt support from relatives, friends, co-workers, vendors and customers has been a testament to the way Jerry lived his life. The void left by his absence is enormous.
We take comfort in Jerry’s heavenly reunion with his parents, Sam and Mary Lou, two sisters, Margaret Ann and Phyllis, as well as his grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth, and daughter Nina; 8 siblings and their spouses Linda (Tibor), Sam Jr. “Buddy” (Debbie), Jim (Margaret), John (Nancy), Jeff (Terri), Philip (Robin), Jan (Jamie) and Joey; nieces and nephews, Julian, Yvette (Scott), Monica, Adrian, April, Aaron (Christine), Nathan, Josh (Hillary), Jonathan (Heather), Christina, Kylie, Thomas (Charlsey), Trent, Cody, Dillon, Luke, Joanna and Adam; great nieces and nephews Gracie Cassey, Ruby and Samuel Keys; Kailyn, Parker, Samuel, William, Axel and Giovanni.
