Jane was born in Hartford, Connecticut on July 11, 1934 to Dr. Winthrop and Mabel Partridge and had two older sisters, Ann and Helen. She graduated from Brown University and worked for United Airlines in New York and later in San Francisco. There she met and married Thomas Oliver in May of 1969. In December of 1970 their only daughter Sandra was born.
In 1972 the family moved to Houston then in 1976 to Baton Rouge.
During the first few years here she enjoyed being a substitute teacher in both public and private schools then spent many years in the travel industry at Pearson's Travel World.
She enjoyed volunteering in the Women's Ministries at Broadmoor Methodist Church and was a member of the "Gumbo" Sunday school class.
Jane is precede in death by her parents and both sisters. She is survived by her husband Tom, her daughter Sandra and husband Chris (Earles), beloved grandsons Daniel and Benjamin, and many special nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
The family would like to give special thanks to the devoted staff of The Hospice of Baton Rouge, and to Paula and Roberta, care givers from Home Instead, for their compassion and service to Jane. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Broadmoor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Cook officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a reception will be held after the ceremony at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
