Jamie Michael Navarre, a resident of St. Francisville and a native of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the age of 36. He played collegiate baseball for Jeff Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama, and also played for Southern University where he received his Bachelor’s degree. Jamie enjoyed playing men’s tournament softball and was an assistant coach for his son’s baseball team the Zachary Legendz. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in St. Francisville and worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish tax assessor’s office. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Leslie Davis Navarre; son, Tucker Daniel Navarre; mother, Vickie Bizette Navarre; brother, Justin Matthew Navarre and wife Marcy; mother in law and father in law, Randy and Ruthie Davis; sisters in law, Laura Card and husband Chris, Gretchen Hanchey and husband G.H., and Shelly Gennardo and husband Todd; and nieces and nephews, Tyler Navarre, Helen Elizabeth Davis, and Mills Hanchey. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Joseph Navarre. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge from 5pm until 8pm, and resume Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in St. Francisville from 9am until mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will follow In Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Card, Todd Easley, Blake Eaton, BJ Jordan, Gordon Lipscomb, and Michael Summers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robby Edmonston, Todd Gennardo, GH Hanchey, Brian Hess, Jason Louque, and Budgie Wall. The family would like to personally thank all the doctors and nurses at Mary Bird Perkins, Dr. Richard Byrd, Dr. Ryan Majoria, Dr. Jag and His Team at The Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma and most of all to Dr. Tim Lindsey and Dr. Chaillie Daniel and the Daniel clinic staff for always being on standby to see Jamie when needed.
