Rouge, Louisiana to Edward Ross White and Lucille Epperson White. Dr. White graduated
from Baker High School in 1981, obtained his B.S. in science in 1970, and his M.D. in 1973
from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He was board certified in Internal Medicine,
Allergy and Immunology, and Anesthesia, and was passionate about the practice of
medicine and the care of his patients, many of whom eventually became close friends. He
also enjoyed bringing his skills and knowledge to medically underserved communities in
Guatemala, and treasured the knowledge that he could make a positive difference in his
patients’ lives. He loved to travel and often took his family and friends on vacations around
the world. His favorite destinations included the Rocky Mountains, the Virgin Islands and
Europe. He was an avid sailor, and adored taking family and friends for day-trips and trips
along the coast on his sailboat. In his later years, he enjoyed many fishing trips in the Gulf of
Mexico with close friends. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita, and his three
daughters, Cathy Canty of Twin Falls, Idaho, Christine White of New Orleans, Jamie Davison
of Birmingham, Alabama, and grandson, Dylan Canty. Particular thanks to The Claiborne
Senior Living Facility in Baton Rouge. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11th
at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street) from 9 am to 11:30 am with a brief
service to follow at 11:30 am.
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss
If not, he made the best of this.
