James Emile "Jay" Kelly, Jr. passed away on Friday, October 02, 2015, at the age of 72, at his son's home in Clinton. He was a long time resident of Baton Rouge. Jay was an avid bowler, attending City, State, and National Tournaments. He was an active volunteer for the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for over 30 years. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Emile "Trey" Kelly III and Joan of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Kelly May and Steve of Dallas, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law Shirley Kelly and Garth Cook, Barbara Kelly, and Joyce and Daryl Pourciau; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Vicki Kelly; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Emile Kelly Sr. and Mable Lusk Kelly; two brothers, Jerry and Patrick Kelly. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., on Monday, October 05, 2015, 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Moroney. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearer and dear friend is Bobby Knippers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry.
