Irma Cassel

Irma Cassel passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 92 and a native of Harrisonburg, LA, a longtime resident of Converse, LA and resided in Baton Rouge upon retirement. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University and retired from the Sabine parish school system after 36 years of service. Irma was preceded in death by her loving husband, J.P. Cassel, parents Isaac Boatner and Irma Dorsey Boatner, sisters Sara Benton, Zaidee Dykes and nephew R.J. Dykes III. She is survived by sisters Nell Batchelor and Ikey Hewes, brother in law Bill Hewes, nieces and nephews, Jordan Martin, Susan Lee, Bette Law, Kevin Brulte, Greg Brulte, Mark Brulte, Anna Hoge, Stephen Hewes and Susan Leake. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday July 1, 2015, from 9 AM until funeral service at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Parl.
