Irene Matherne Braud, a native of French Settlement and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the age of 99. Irene is survived by her children, Beverly Braud Dupuy and Emmett Braud and his wife, Dolores; grandchildren, Dana Burke and her husband, James, Scott Dupuy, and Mark Braud and his wife, Christina; great-grandchildren, Breanne Dupuy, Lauren Burke, Ashley Burke, and Noelle Braud; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Braud, Sr.; her parents, Phillip and Jeanetine Matherne; and brothers, Hymel, Allen, Randolph, and Evan Matherne. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
