Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 3:50 p.m., we lost our mother, Hilda Parent McClure. She was the heart of our family, gentle, loving, encouraging and kind beyond measure. She was totally devoted to our father, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was 88 years of age.
A life-time resident of East Baton Rouge Parish, she is survived by a son, Allie E. McClure, Jr. and wife Pat, her five daughters: Kathleen Chadick and husband Stan, Geraldine O’Neal and husband Cameron, Winona Futch and husband Tom, Rebecca Roy and husband Lyn, and Alice Blakewood and husband Griff, 17 grandchildren: Page McClure, Jodie McClure Haney and husband Don, Steve Schilling and wife Shay, John Schilling and wife Susan, Jeremy O’Neal and wife Heather, Amy O’Neal, Amanda O’Neal Taylor and husband Ian, Tommy Futch, Jonathan Futch and wife Sarah, Anna Futch Sorbet and husband Scott, Michael Futch and wife London, Matthew Roy and wife Lindsey, Leah Roy Moran and husband Dwayne, Elizabeth Roy Digirolamo and husband Cory, Mary Alice Roy, Eldred Blakewood and Harrison Blakewood; 14 great-grandchildren: Andrew and Daniel McClure; Alex, Cole, and Randi Haney; Joseph Schilling, Caitlyn and Cameron O’Neal; Malorie and Eli Digirolamo, Payton and Paige Moran, Wyatt, and Audrie Roy; and 6 step-grandchildren: Keith, Eddie, and Darrell Fairchild, Clay, Cabe, and Cooper Chadick, her brother Byron Parent and sisters Marie Poole, Juanita Starks, and Theresa Bonaventure. She was preceded in death by her husband Allie E. McClure, Sr., her parents Alfred J. and Elmena LeBlanc Parent, her brother Glennon Parent, her sisters Vera McGhee and Alice Parent, and her granddaughter Laura Schilling. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Baton Rouge Business College. Hilda was a member of the Altar Society of St. John’s Catholic Church in Zachary, LA. Pallbearers are her grandsons.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on
Thursday evening, September 9th from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Friday morning at St. John’s Catholic Church in Zachary, LA from 9 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Lane Nursing Home for its loving and devoted care of our mother and us. We are also deeply grateful to the administration and staff of Oakwood Assisted Living Special Care Unit for its devotion to our mother.
