Herbert (Herby) Cumberland Wilson, Jr., 64, of Baton Rouge, LA passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021. He was born in Monroe, LA on March 6, 1957. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1975 to 1978. He attended Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) and worked as an architectural draftsman before becoming a civil and structural engineer. He was employed for many years with Dow Chemical and Formosa. He was passionate about classic cars, fishing and music, but not necessarily in that order. He was a self-taught musician that favored his base guitar and loved playing gigs with his band, Loud Have Mercy. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert Cumberland Wilson, Sr. and Diana Noel Wilson Ray. He is survived by his beloved wife Dana Faglie Wilson, sons Andy Wilson and Glenn Wilson, all of Baton Rouge, and sisters Noel Wilson of Alamosa, CO and Anne Wilson Hood (Ren) of Duluth, GA. Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge with Father Ryan Hallford officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am. To 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
