Herbert “Herb” Joseph Zeringue, Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the age of 64. He was born in New Orleans and was raised in the Baton Rouge area. He was a Redemptorist High School graduate, class of ’76. After years of dedicated hard work in the electric motor industry, he retired from Industrial Electric Motor Service with 33 years of service. Herb never met a stranger and would give you the shirt of his back. Herb would help anyone with anything they needed and expected nothing in return. He was a great cook, enjoyed entertaining and loved zydeco music, especially Wayne Toups. His greatest passion was LSU sports and literally bled purple and gold. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with friends and family. Herb is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Christie; daughters, Melanie Riff (Mark) and Hannah Zeringue; and a host of other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert, Sr. and Elise Zeringue; brother, Ted; and three angel grandchildren. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm. Visitation will resume at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, September 23, from 9:30am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs of Team Gleason Foundation, the ALS Association, OLOL ALS Clinic, Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Wren Veal and Amy Roth, and the Butterfly Wing.
