Henry N. (Butch) Denham Jr., a Baton Rouge native and resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2018 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center at the age of 76. He received his bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in Education from Louisiana State University. He retired from a career in elementary education, serving as a teacher and principal in East Baton Rouge Parish and at Parkview Baptist School. Butch was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow, recipient of the Silver Beaver award, and a Scout Master for more than 25 years. He was a strong and faithful Christian, serving in the youth ministry and leadership of his church.
Butch was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Louise Hopper Denham; mother, Christine Jones Denham, and father, Henry N. Denham Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Denham McIntire, husband Kevin and their children Ashlea and Jacob; his son, David N. Denham, wife Jessica and their children Christine and Cassandra; and his sister Patricia Denham Haddox.
Visitation which will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6 pm-9 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 19, 2017 from 9am until funeral service begins at 10am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital and the Methodist Children's Home.
