Ms. Helen Caston Easley Hodges was called home on February 23rd, 2014. Helen was born August 20th, 1919 and a resident of Pride, LA. She was a charter member Fellowship Baptist and National Arbor Society and 700 Club. Her hobbies included watching LSU sports, gardening, making pastries and playing music with her fellow music friends. Helen retired from Greenbrier Elementary School.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Easley and wife Bobbie, Janice Easley DePino, Jerri Easley Necaise and husband Dennis, Jay Easley and wife Cathy, sister Annie Ruth Brownie and husband Robert, brother Charles Caston and wife Annie May, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Jessie P. Easley and Albert Hodges, parents Eugene and Myrtis Bradham Caston, brothers Arthur, G.C. , Vardaman , Bilbo and Edgar Caston and sister Marie Caston and grandson Brandon Easley.
Pallbearers will be: Joseph, Jeffrey, Scotty and Jeremy Easley, Joseph Messina Jr., Grayson, Glenn and Greg McGraw. Honorary pallbearers: Darren Messina and music friends.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Monday, February 24th, 6:00pm-9:00pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, February 25th, 10:00am til service at noon. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Cemetery in Kentwood Louisiana. Funeral services will be conducted by Donnie Easley and Reverend Dale Phillips and Reverend Paul Pierson.
