Helen Frances D’Benedetto Browning passed away June 12, 2018 in Boerne, TX after a courageous fight with cancer. Born March 12, 1941 to Nicholas Anthony and Elise Bourgeois D’Benedetto. Helen was a native of Baton Rouge and graduate of Baton Rouge High. She was a long-time resident of Denham Springs and also a long-time resident of Etta, MS, where she was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. Most recently she resided in Boerne, TX to be close to two of her sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years Joseph M. Browning, Jr., her daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Browning and her brother Gary F. D’Benedetto. She is survived by her sons Michael (Beverly) Browning, Scott (Lori) Browning and Sean Browning; grandchildren Helen Elise “Lisi” Browning, Mary Clair Browning, Brock Browning, John Robert Sherman, Sara Grace Sherman, Cameron Branch Browning, Brandon Davis, and Brittany Browning; great-grandchildren Elizabeth “Beth” Carson and Leon Brackett. She is also survived by her brother Carl (Kerry Kirby) D’Benedetto and her sister Donna D’Benedetto (Tom) Boudreaux as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen, a long-time LSU fan, loved flower arranging, singing in the Philadelphia Baptist Church choir, and her daily soap opera “stories”. The family would like to thank the Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place of Boerne, All County Home Care and Hospice of Boerne and the staff of Care Choice Nursing Home in Boerne, as well as Bobby Irvin, Pastor of Philadelphia Baptist Church, and his congregation for the care and support given to Helen these past few years. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, 456 County Road 255 Etta, Mississippi 38627 or the American Cancer Society. A visitation will be held 5 PM – 8 PM on June 19 and 9 AM on June 20 at the Greenoaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the Greenoaks Funeral Chapel at 10 AM on June 20 with interment immediately following at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
