

Harvey B. Sharon a native of Colfax and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA., Harvey went to be with his Savior on April 20, 2017, at the age of 86. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War. He retired from Dow Chemical and was the former owner of Sharon’s Pest Control. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by all those who knew him. His family will always remember the words to his favorite hymn: “There’s a whole lot of people going home and I know it won’t be very long. In a twinkle of an eye we’ll soon be gone. There’s a whole lot of people going home.” Harvey is survived by his wife of 64 years, M. Dorothy David Sharon, daughter, Faith Ford and her husband Lynn; grandsons, R. Mark and Joshua B. Gauitreau; great-granddaughters, Laynie and Londyn Guitreau; a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Laura Sharon and his sisters, Beatrice Wackett and Lorraine Cupit. Memorial and Inurnment services to be officiated by Pastor David Smith of Family Worship Center at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:30am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenoaks Funeral Home.
