Greggory was born on October 03, 1986 to Greggory D. Butler and Karen Hodgeson Butler in Gonzales, LA. After graduating 3rd in his class from East Ascension High School in 2005, Greggory attended Louisiana State University. He played football, was in the Spartan Band and a wrestler at EAHS. He was among the first group to start this sport at East Ascension High School under Coach Mahoney. He also loved music and played the saxophone at Gonzales Middle School and East Ascension High School under Ms. Patty Rousell. He had many hobbies including fishing with his family in Cocodrie, traveling, skiing, hiking, and anything outdoors. He had an immense passion for Louisiana holding a deep respect and love for the culture of downtown Baton Rouge. He was always a source of positive energy, love and support. He truly was living his best life among many many wonderful loving friends. He was a hard worker, a talented chef and a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and most of all friend. He would drop everything to help someone in need.
Gregg is proceeded in death by his father, Greggory D. Butler; maternal grandmother, Edith Ingalls Hodgeson; maternal grandfather, Jimmie W. Hodgeson, Ph. D; paternal grandfather, Morris Butler Jr., maternal uncle, Jeffrey W. Hodgeson; and paternal uncle, Jeffery John Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Karen Hodgeson Butler; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Butler Plaisance and Todd Plaisance; sister, Casey Nicole Butler; brother, Carson Shane Butler; niece, Brooklyn Rose Plaisance; paternal grandmother, Jimmie F. Jones; maternal aunts, Nancy Hodgeson and Kathleen Hodgeson; maternal uncle, Greg Ransome; paternal aunt, Anastasia E. Jarreau; paternal uncles, Michael M. Butler, Christopher W. Butler and David C. Butler; and his sweet dog Kyla.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 10:00 am until the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 pm.
