A retired administrative assistant for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals with 33 years of service, she died at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Regency Place. She was 71 and a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Miles D. Walsh. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Maurie and Eric Alford; two beautiful granddaughters, Shelby Nicole Alford and Ericka Raevyn Alford; brother and sister-in-law, V.J. and Rose Caruso; nephew, Vincent Joseph "Pajo" Caruso Jr. and his wife, Angel; and a great-nephew, Gionni Dante Caruso. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Josie Miceli Caruso.
