Gloria Efferson Pritchard, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on November 22, 2017 at the age of 77 at St. Joseph's Hospice. She was born on July 3, 1940 in New York City, NY. She moved to Louisiana at a young age. She graduated from Istrouma High School and from OLOL Nursing School with honors. She worked primarily as a psychiatric registered nurse at East Louisiana State Hospital and she retired from Greenwell Springs Hospital in 1995. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved to read, learn new things, play the piano, garden, paint, travel, and spend time with her family. She will be missed immensely. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Mayo; her father, Al Efferson; and her loving husband of 49 years, Franklin Pritchard. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Pritchard; daughter, Cindy Watts and son-in-law, Mike Watts; and daughter, Leslie Weimer and son-in-law, Rick Weimer and sister Barbara Pond. She is also survived by grandchildren Jessica Hutto, Jake Watts, Hunter Watts, David Weimer, and Ann Marie Weimer and great-grandson, Gage Hutto. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, November 26, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family extends their deepest gratitude to her caregiver, Ernie Chambers, who cared for her with love and compassion for the past 7 years. The family also appreciates the compassionate care she received at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Bluebonnet, and to all of the loving staff at the Carpenter's House at St. Joseph's Hospice.
