Tiny was one of 12 children born to Jake and Addie Little Sheets, who were of St. Amant. Surviving her are her son, Victor Cheek; grandchildren, Paul and Robert Cheek; great-grandchildren, Madison Claire and Lydia Lynn Cheek; and siblings, Kerney Sheets and Joy Soileau. Very special are her niece and loving caregiver, Jackie Bennett; and her former daughter-in-law, Rhonda Cheek. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews. Tiny was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, R.B Cheek; two brothers, Andrew and Clyde Sheets; and four sisters, Sandy Bardach, Myrtle Smith, Hazel Witczak and Loretta Carpenter. Both Tiny and R.B. were members of Hooper Road Baptist Church, where they served faithfully until their deaths. This is where she became known as "Candy Lady," always arriving with pockets full of peppermints for all. She was very special, energetic, feisty, generous and dearly loved. Fond memories of Tiny include her love of plants and flowers. Family and friends had the benefit of her fresh and silk flower arrangements and her specialty was the use of unique containers. Tiny remained active and alert and drove her car until one week before her death at age 93. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, June 19, from 9 a.m. until the religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
