A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be truly missed. Ms. Geraldine Schoonmaker Nevels passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her resident in Watson. She was 81 and a native of Baton Rouge. Ms. Nevels was a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church and will always be remembered by her incredible sense of humor and how she loved family gatherings, shopping and cooking. She will live in our hearts forever. Survived by three daughters and spouses, Lisa and Dale Michaelson, Renee and Eddie Hood and Debbie and Richard Teegarden; a son and spouse, Calvin and Tammy Nevels; a sister, Pansy Satterfeal; two brothers; Frank and Eddie Schoonmaker; ten grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Stacy Corder, Kelly Quick, Nicholas Bihm, Heather Smith, Tara Ransome, Jeremy Bihm, Lance Nevels, Holly Hood, Madison Michaelson; Fourteen great-grandchildren and her beloved Poochie Boo. Preceded in death by her husband Calvin Nevels Sr., parents Charles and Mattie Schoonmaker, brother Theil Schoonmaker, sisters, Gloria Aucoin and Margie Smart. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Bihm, Jeremy Bihm, Lance Nevels, Lee Ransome, John Quick, Jonathan Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Michaelson, Eddie Hood, Justin Thompson, Braxon Bihm and Jagger Ransome. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. B.R., Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Monday, July 20, 2015 from 10:00am until service time of 12:00pm.
