Gay Nell Parker Gibson passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the age of 85. Gay Nell is survived by her daughters, Karen Romero, Kimberly Jones (Marc), and Kelly Pardue (Jeff); grandchildren, Courtney Begnaud (Kenneth), Patrick Romero, Tyler Jones, Leigh Anne April (Justin), Kyle Pardue (Katelyn), Sarah Pardue-Bourgeois (Ross), and Anna Wallace; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Harrison, Caleb, and Hadassah; sister, Lillian Shaffett; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her son, Philip Craig Massey; husband, William “Hoot” Earl Gibson, Jr.; parents, Philip and Floise Parker; siblings, Lionel, Ray, and Thurman Parker, and Annie Ruth Dedon; and son-in-law, Weston J. Romero, Jr. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 4pm until 7pm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 9am until the time of funeral services at 11am.
