"Francis Sprague Pugh, 82, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Baton Rouge, La., passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and LSU. Sprague was a retired controller at the Dow Chemical Company, retiring after 39 years of service. His career started in Plaquemine, La., and led him to many overseas assignments, including England, South Korea, Hong Kong and Australia. Sprague enjoyed time with his family, music, good food and good friends. He was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. Survivors include: his wife Pat; sons Kevin (Nancy) and Keith of Baton Rouge; daughters Patti (Scott) Kareus and Suzanne (Moungi) Slim of Michigan; granddaughters Ashlee and Kirsten Kareus of Michigan; sisters Millie (Martin) Bonacorso and Bette (Todd) Hartsfield; sisters-in-law Camilla Pugh, Dot (Harry) Sita, Gillie Courtade; brother-in-law Kenny (Lori) Courtade; and many nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by his parents Francis Sprague and Vivian Pugh Sr; and in-laws Lincoln and Lillie Courtade Sr.; brother Gordon Pugh Sr.; nephew Gordon Pugh Jr; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Bobbie Hebert; and brother-in-law Lincoln Courtade Jr. Visitation will be at 9:00 am on Monday, October 23, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine, with a Mass following at 10 am.
