Francis Donald LeBlanc passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018 after a brief illness. He was 83, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, and a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church. The old beachcomber enjoyed LSU football, fishing, boating, and joking. He invented the sand-shuffle dance on Grand Isle. Though he never had children of his own, Donald embraced his nephews as his own children and served as an example of love of family, sports, and laughter, and love of the Lord. We are forever thankful for all the good times we spent together. Uncle Donald always had time for us. He served his country in the US Air Force in Okinawa during the Korean War Era. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Donald is the last of 10 children to be reunited in heaven with his parents and siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Leon LeBlanc, Sr. and Aline Mire LeBlanc; sisters Marjorie Mautner and husband Bill, Genevieve Garrett and husband Fritz, Rosemary Tuminello and husband Roy, and Dorothy LeBlanc; brothers Wilton LeBlanc, Arthur Leon LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Audrey, Russell LeBlanc, Clifton LeBlanc, and Earl LeBlanc. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 10 am until funeral services begin at 12pm conducted by Father Phil Spano. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park at the conclusion of services. Pallbearers will be Donald’s nephews. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity is requested in celebration of the life of Donald. Special thanks to all family and medical staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital who provided care and comfort to Uncle Donald.
