Frances G. Edelman died of natural causes on August 26 at the age of 93 at her home in Baton Rouge. She is survived by daughters Ann Edelman, of Baton Rouge, and Dr. Susan Edelman Stluka (Steve), of Palo Alto, California. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Dr. Joseph Edelman, whom she met when he was on a neurological fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. Fran was born in Boston on May 31, 1928, the daughter of Rose and Jacob Greenberg. She was buried in the Jewish Cemetery in Baton Rouge on August 27.
A graduate of the fashion merchandising college in Boston, Fran owned and operated Tall Fashions for 27 years. She always said she had the nicest customers, the best neighbors and the most wonderful friends. Fran loved their Hillside Circle home, which she said was like living in a park. She will be remembered for her quiet generosity and her gracious hospitality.
The family extends deepest appreciation to Annette Givens and Amanda “Lori” Roberts for their long service, loving care and extraordinary devotion.
