Ferdinand “Ferd” W. Theriot, Jr., a native of Baton Rouge, LA and resident of Central, LA, passed away on June 20, 2022 at the age of 75. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and was employed by DOTD for over 40 years. He was also a faithful and longtime member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Central Lion’s Club. Ferd enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching LSU sports, and spoiling his dog, Governess.
He is survived by his daughter, Cherie Theriot Hardin and husband, David; grandson, Dillon Smiley and his wife Rachel; his great grandson, Eli Smiley; siblings, Pat Duhe and Gerard Theriot; nieces, Shannon Traylor and Jenna Duhe; nephews, Gary Duhe, Jr., Robbie Theriot, and Jason Theriot; and sister-in-law, Clara Theriot.
Ferd is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon Theriot; parents, Ferdinand, Sr. and Irma Hebert Theriot; his brother, Bob Theriot; and sister-in-law, Carol Theriot.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10 am until 11 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am with burial to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Dillon Smiley, David Hardin, Eric Traylor, Gerard Theriot, Robbie Theriot and Jason Theriot.
