Faye Brown passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the age of 90. She was a native of Livingston Parish and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Denham Springs High School. She then attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where she was chosen “Who’s Who” among Students in American Universities. Soon after, Faye graduated from LSU, receiving a Master’s Degree in Education. Her first employment was as Director of Health and Physical Education at Covington High School. Afterwards, she became a teacher and coach at Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge, where she remained until retiring to raise her children. Later, Faye was appointed to serve on the Louisiana State Pardon Board, where she served in this capacity from 1985 to 1989. She was an active member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Alpha Sunday School class, which was one of the joys of her life. Faye is survived by her children, Dana Brown and fiancee’, Susan Manuel, Kelli Brown and Kirk Brown and wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Alexa Leon, Amber Leon, Max Brown, and Brycyn Brown; great-grandchildren, Jadeyn Harkins, Ashlyn Harkins, Kaden Leon, Micah Leon, Cassidy Mitchell, and Nash Billings; her dog that she adored, Bear; and a host of loving friends, who brought her joy and many good times. Faye is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ossie Brown; and parents, Gordie Underwood and Audrey Chambers. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 12:00pm until the time of funeral services at 2:00pm.
