Ernestine Bourgeois was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Baton Rouge, and passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Carpenter House. She was 94. Visitation at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her daughter, Iris Poche and husband John; son, Ray Bourgeois and wife Dottie; daughter-in-law, Jackie Bourgeois; grandchildren, John Poche Jr., Matthew Bourgeois, Ray Bourgeois Jr., Renee Busche, Brad Bourgeois, Jeff Poche, Justin Poche and Rhett Bourgeois; and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bourgeois; and son, Roy Bourgeois Jr. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Todd Cooley, The Guest House and Carpenter House. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Francis.
