A homemaker, resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Magnolia, Ark., Era died at 6:12 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs. She was 92. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday Visiting at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Monday until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jim Nichols. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her two sons, James A. Almond, of Denham Springs, and Kenny L. Almond and his wife, Regina Major Almond, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Inez Bolton, of Shreveport and Jessie Thomas, of Magnolia; six grandchildren, Ashley Almond, Dawn Cuellar, Mark Almond, Debbie Hernandez, Michelle Chenevert and Dale Almond; six great-grandchildren, Adrian and Amanda Cuellar, Melanie and Katherine Hernandez, Julia Almond and Wyatt Chenevert; close family friends, Russell Jacobs, Sharon Browning, Tricia Pourciau, a very dear and loving caregiver Rose Thompson, and the neighbors on Crestwood Drive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Auben L. Almond; parents, Frank and Ida Poindexter Baker; and brother, Aubrey Slay Baker. Pallbearers will be Chad Chenevert, Mark Almond, Dale Almond, Rusty Jacobs and Kevin Kedroske. Era Marie was a member of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church and the Home Demonstration Association. Memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
