Emma Payne passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 90 years old, a native of Pride, La and a resident of Baton Rouge. She retired from Dillard’s, but also worked for Shoppers Fair and D.H. Holmes. Emma is survived by her daughter Sandra Lee, who Emma lived with for six years, son Teddy Payne and his wife Arphaphun of Crosby, TX., daughter-in-law Nettie Payne, of Baton Rouge, sisters, Maude Gayle of Clinton, Elmer Erwin, of Greenwell Springs, brothers, Gordon Pace, of Jackson and Bob Pace, of Clinton, grandsons, Keith Payne, of Walker, Jason Payne, of Baton Rouge, and Christopher Payne, of Denham Springs, granddaughters, Alawan Thomas and husband Dustin, of Hutto, TX., Laura Clemmons and husband Eric, of Houston, TX., and Jennifer Payne, of Boston, Mass., great-grandson Austin and Mitchell Payne, of Walker, Caleb Payne, of Denham Springs, and Landen Thomas, of Hutto, TX., great-granddaughter Leila Payne, of Denham Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Clyde J. Payne Sr., and sons Gerald W. Payne, C.J. Payne, parents Charles and Mary Pace, grandson Ted Fitzpatrick, one sister and five brothers. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Sunday January 1, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm. Visiting continues at the funeral on Monday January 2, 2012 from 8am till service time at 10am.
