Our amazing Dad/Pawpaw, Emile Lobrano Edwards, better known as “Pawpaw Emile or Big E,” entered into Heavens Gate on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025. Dad had just celebrated his 84th birthday on April 10. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Frances Theresa Pitslata Edwards, and his three children, Mayor President Bryan “Sid” Edwards (Beanie), Vicki “Tut” McInnis (Dean), and Lisa Hubbard (John). Together, they gave him his greatest blessings; grandchildren, Cody Edwards (Aimee), Delaney Alwosaibi (AJ), Chase and Jack Ryan Edwards, Haley LeBlanc (Trae), Jeremy McInnis (Alyssa), Austin McInnis, Nicholas McInnis (Michaela), Peyton Hubbard (Haley), and Dylan Hubbard (Hannah). But his greatest joy were his great grandbabies; Jaxon Shaffer, Jordan Emile Edwards, Audriana and John Michael Alwosaibi, Oakley and Tatum LeBlanc, Killian Knox, and soon-to-be baby Camille. He is also survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Charlene Edwards, and his precious puppy, Peppy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Monte McNabb Edwards; in-laws, Ralph and Vivian “Gonnie” David Pitslata; and sister, Jeanne Ingalls. Daddy was 17 and Mama was only 12 years old when they fell in love. He loved Mama with all his heart and was constantly worried about her. Together, they taught us what true love really was all about. He kept us laughing with all his stories and all of the voice messages he would leave us on our phones. Dad loved to cook and making crackers for everyone he knew. He was like a child opening presents on his birthday and Christmas. He loved Hi-Nabor and going to any grocery store, and he loved his candy. His most favorite thing of all was when one of the grandkids walked through the door. He was a father figure to all of our friends. He loved them all like his own children, and they all adored him. Dad was a proud Istrouma High graduate. He retired from Ethyl Corporation and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He loved his job and his co-workers. He kept his address book with him at all times. He couldn’t wait to call his friends and brag on one of us. He was not only a great husband, dad and grandfather, he was an awesome man, our hero, a true legend. Until we meet again, we love you Daddy, and will miss you terribly. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St George Catholic Church (7808 St. George Dr, Baton Rouge), from 9:30 am to Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, sons-in-law, and his “adopted” son, Ritchie Quinn. A special thank you to his doctors of many years, Dr. Joseph Deumite and Dr. Herschel Dean, and to his loyal friends, Mr. Russell David, Mrs. Sam Castle, Julio Vides, his high school friends, and his buddies at OLOL.
