“The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and forever more." Psalm 121:8 The Lord called Elizabeth Yvonne Raines Bozeman to Heaven to be with Him and rejoin her husband, Warren, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Baton Rouge, LA. She was known as "Yvonne" to most, "Baby" to her husband, "Mama" to her children... but her favorite name was "Granny". Born in Canton, MS, she graduated from Baton Rouge High where she met the love of her life, Warren and they married in 1954. They resided in Baton Rouge, LA, Anchorage, AK, and Saudi Arabia until Warren's retirement from Exxon. After retirement, they lived full time in an RV while serving with Campers on Mission and Volunteer Christian Builders while traveling throughout the US. They then returned home to Baton Rouge where Warren built their forever home on a pond with a porch that Mama loved. Yvonne loved the Lord and could be found many mornings at the table and nights in bed reading her Bible. She prayed for her family and friends faithfully and trusted Him through the good and the bad times. A devoted prayer warrior, Mama was a member of Florida Blvd., Winbourne Ave., and after retirement, Zoar Baptist Church where she loved singing her favorite hymns with her beautiful alto voice. She was a committed homemaker and loved it. She was an LPN and worked, after her children were older, at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Together, she and Warren raised five children in a home full of love, fun and delicious food. They were blessed to have 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. They made great memories of camping vacations in different states, sightseeing and fun, with laughter at home and away. She took joy in Warren's joking nature but always fussed at him when he wouldn't let the children win at Parchessi. She loved sitting on the porch swing, with Daddy and a cup of coffee. She loved nature's beauty, and birds, especially hummingbirds and ducks. Nothing brought Mama more pleasure than seeing the new duckling swimming behind the mother duck in Mama's pond. Granny will be remembered for her tender heart, warm voice, the love she put into meals (steak and gravy, followed by grits and gravy) and taking good care of her family. Her cornbread dressing, cheesy spaghetti bake, and bread pudding were favorites at Thanksgiving. She made the sweetest, sweet tea. What she loved most was that the food brought her family together. Yvonne love watching the LSU Tigers play football and baseball, but not as much as watching her own grandsons playing at Parkview Baptist School and in college. Her beautiful blue eyes and sweet smile will be missed by everyone who knew her. And yet, we take great comfort in knowing that Jesus welcomed her to worship Him forever and that she has been reunited with Warren. Yvonne is survived by her sons, Warren "Butch" Jr. (Jane), Jimmy (Sonya), David (Brianna), Terry (Lisa) Bozeman; daughter, Aimee Bozeman Brown; grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Jameson, Kellen, Brennan, Conner and Alex Bozeman, Rebecca Boles, Elizabeth Braud, Jordan Langheinz, Jacob and Matthew Brown; 21 great-grandchildren (with #22 on the way); sister, Shirley Wise; and a host of other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Warren Berwick Bozeman, Sr.; granddaughter, Jamie Lauren Brown; parents, James Edward and Jessie Raines; sister, Jean Fleniken; and brothers, Billy and Ted Raines. The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, and Garden View Assisted Living, numerous caregivers, and all the friends and family who offered their care and support, thoughts, and prayers, especially Sandra Varnado, and many others who visited with Mama over the years. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 5pm until 7pm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 9:30am until the time of funeral services at 11am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Yvonne's memory to St. Joseph's Hospice or Volunteer Christian Builders @ www.VolunteerChristianBuilders.com
