Edna Braud

Edna Hutchinson Dispenza Braud, born Sept. 5, 1918, died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 11, 2009. She was retired and lived in Baton Rouge with her children. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Sam Michael Dispenza and wife Cheryl, John Wayne Dispenza and wife Patsy, Mary Frances "Teede" Dispenza Bonfanti and husband Brent, and Paula Jean "Jeannie" Dispenza Landry and husband Sonny; 10 grandchildren, Aimee Dispenza, Sam Dispenza, Katharyn Dispenza, Elizabeth Dispenza, Cherie Bonfanti Gilliam, Erick Bonfanti, Crystal Bonfanti Boemia, Arie Landry Miller, Jessica Landry Neyland and Nathan Landry; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Davis; brothers, Warren and Shinnie; sister-in-law, Bernice Dispenza; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Sam Dispenza Jr.; husband, Louis Braud; parents, Frank M. and Lily M. Hutchinson; two brothers, Frank and Doug Hutchinson; and two sisters, Lois Hebert and Christine Fasullo. She worked for many years at the Rider Jewelry Co. at Godchaux's Department Store. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, May 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd., on Friday, May 15, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by Monsignor Robert Berggreen. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
