She was 65 years old, a native of Baton Rouge and a recently retired teacher of 39 years in the East Baton Rouge Parish Public School System. Services will be held on Friday, June 11 at Greenoaks Funeral Home; Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, Memorial Service at 2 pm, and Final Committal at 2:45 pm. She is survived by husband Robert Nissen; sons Jason Kimball and Wilson Morris; daughter Jessica Morris; stepsons Mathis Nissen and Marcus Nissen; stepdaughter Donna Doiron; grandsons Kaden Kimball, Darryl Foshee, Cayden Nissen and Jacob Morris; and granddaughters Khloe Morris, Kolette Kimball, and Brehea Nissen. Becky is remembered for her huge capacity for love and compassion that she shared with the world. While she was ever devoted to her family, Becky was also a committed educator/mentor to countless number of extended friends and students. Becky believed that everybody had beauty inside of their hearts and she fought to bring about the best in all those she encountered. Becky always found time for those in need; often times lending a compassionate ear over a coffee and a conversation. Often remembered as Ms. Becky, Sweetheart, or Aunt Beck Beck, she was a titan of empathy and tenderness and always viewed people by the content of their character. In lieu of flowers, please make the contribution that Becky always asked of others: "Be Kind."
