A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he passed away peacefully on December 28, 2020. He was 89, a native of Picayune, MS, a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church, and a veteran of The United States Army. The love he had for his family was unmeasurable and his generosity was admirable. He is survived by three nephews whom he raised, Randy, Ken, and Joe Radford; five grandchildren Jimmy Currey Jr. (Whitney), Josh Currey (Brandi), and Megan Deaton (Fur); ten great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Jade, Rayne-Lee, Ariah, Harper, Tristyn, Mia, Emery, Banks, and Rowan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chessie Lee; daughter, Trudy Lee; parents, Charlie and Dorothy Lee; brothers , Perry, C.J., and Robert Lee; sisters, Charlene Jones, Patsy Strahan, and Diane Whitchurch. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 3 pm to 7 pm. Religious services will be held graveside at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, 18486 Sanders Rd. Franklinton on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1 pm.
