Earl Paul "E.P." "Bro" Alonzo, Sr. died unexpectedly on Wednesday 3 April 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was 91 years of age, born on June 7, 1921 in Brusly McCall and was a resident of Baton Rouge for 67 years. He was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Friday, April 5, from 4 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday, April 6 from 9 am until 11:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church at 12 noon followed by interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by parents Anatole Augustin Alonzo and Corine Falcon Alonzo, brother Clarence Joseph Alonzo, infant sister, Marie Alonzo, first cousin and foster brother Davis J. Alonzo, grandparents, F. Xavier Alonzo and Elise "Lize" "Mimi" LeBlanc Alonzo, and Jackson A. and Hermania "Tatoone" Dugas Falcon. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Ida Mae Rome Alonzo; son, E. Paul Alonzo, Jr. of Baton Rouge; son, Dennis L. Alonzo of New Orleans; daughter, Janet Kay Alonzo Fulmer, son-in-law, Kenneth R. Fulmer, Jr.; and grandson, Tyler Paul Fulmer all also of Baton Rouge; and brother, Lester M. Alonzo of Donaldsonville. A veteran of World War II, he retired from Ethyl Corporation in 1983. He enjoyed watching televised football games and was a longtime fan of LSU football and baseball.
